Earth Mat Update - They're Shipping!
If you’ve been reading our updates you know that our highly anticipated Quick-Dry Earth Mats were caught up in the global shipping delays. In fact, they were stuck at the Port of Long Beach for weeks and there was nothing we could do but wait. After many weeks of frustration and daily calls to our shipping company, we are very excited to havestartedshipping out Earth Mats to U.S. backers this week!
Since Monday, we have shipped out 4300+ Earth Mats. If you are waiting for one please keep an eye out for an email confirming shipment.
Rainshower NASA Update

As mentioned in our previous updates, the NASA for Rainshower had some production delays over the past few months. We made the decision to absorb the cost of air shipping the units to greatly reduce the delivery timeline and keep us closer to the originally reported date of delivery.
The good news is that the NASA for Rainshower has been shipping to U.S. and international backers and we expect fulfillment to wrap up within the next week.
We are doing everything we can to ship these to you before the end of the year! You will get an email with your tracking information when the pledge ships out.

We have some shipping updates for backers who are still waiting on items, namely international backers, Earth Mat backers, and Nebia Adjustable Shower Arm (NASA) backers.
Before we jump into the details, please rest assured that we will deliver pledges to our Kickstarter backersbeforewe start delivering to customers who order the product on our website. Over the coming days you may see us promoting products such as the Earth Mat on our website. However, these are still pre-orders and will not ship until our next batch of inventory arrives, and after we deliver to Kickstarter backers.

Earth Mat Update
We know that you are anxiously awaiting your Quick-Dry Earth Mats. We are too! We can’t wait for you to experience their almost-magical fast-drying capability.
As we mentioned in our last update, these units have been caught up in the unprecedented global shipping delays. The container ship has been at the Port of Long Beach for the past 4 weeks. The good news is that earlier this week the ship finally docked, which means that we have made meaningful progress. The units will ship out as soon as we receive them and we are doing everything in our power to get these to you before the end of the year. We will continue to keep you posted. As mentioned in our last update, the NASA for Rainshower had some production delays over the past two months. We made the decision to absorb the cost of airshipping the units to greatly reduce the delivery timeline and keep us closer to the originally reported date of delivery.
The good news is that the first batch of 1,200 units have already been air shipped from our manufacturer to our fulfillment center, and we expect to airship another 1,620 units over the coming 2 weeks. These will be processed at our fulfillment center and shipped out as soon as possible. Depending on the color you selected, you should expect to receive your NASA in the next 1-4 weeks (see below). We are doing everything we can to deliver these to you before the end of the year! You will get an email with your tracking information when the pledge ships out.

As of today, we have shipped over 8,472 units to 7,218 backers. This means all U.S. Quattro units and then some have been shipped. We are thrilled to report that Quattro showers have been shipping mostly ahead of schedule! 🙌 See below for some early backer reviews.
These are challenging times in the global supply chain world, and we have not been immune to the setbacks. Some of our add-on products are delayed by a few weeks (read below for more details), and we have a major update for backers who pledged for a NASA Handshower (more details below).

Quattro Shipping Update
As of Monday, all U.S. Quattro pledges have shipped, including Oil Rubbed Bronze and Brushed Gold finishes. We originally expected to ship these finishes in November so we’re very excited to be able to deliver them much sooner than expected. 🎉
For international backers, we are still on track to ship your Quattros in November.
Rainshower NASA Update

In our previous update, we informed U.S. backers who pledged for both a Quattro and a NASA Rainshower that we would wait to ship your Quattro with your NASA for a couple of reasons. At the time, we were confident that we would be able to consolidate these pledges and ship them the first week of November. Unfortunately, production delays and global shipping challenges on NASA set us back.
As a result of these delays, we sent out an email last week to U.S. backers who pledged for both a Quattro and a NASA Rainshower. In the email, we informed you of the situation and the fact that we would be locking your pledge over the weekend and shipping your Quattro this week without your NASA, as we did not want you to have to wait any longer to enjoy your new Quattro.
In our last update, we also mentioned that the NASA Rainshower was stuck in a congested port. We apologize as this was the result of a communication error between our teams. In reality, it is the Quick-Dry Earth Mat that is stuck in ports (more on this below). The NASA Rainshower has been set back by a production delay which our Engineering team is working hard to resolve. We will air ship these units from our manufacturer to make up for the delays (Nebia will absorb the additional cost) and your NASA Rainshower will ship before the end of November.
Once again, we really apologize for the delay and any inconvenience this may cause you. The good news is that while NASA can improve your Quattro experience, it is by no means required and you should be able to enjoy your Quattro without NASA for the time being.
Handshower NASA Update

We have some mixed news. In update #3 we outlined the challenges we were facing with the existing design of NASA for the Quattro Handshower. Our co-founders Gabe and Philip illustrated the technical details in a video in that update.
Over the past three months our engineering team has been working tirelessly to bring this product to life. Regrettably, our field testing has not yielded sufficiently positive remarks. We will not ship a product that does not meet our extremely high standards. As it currently stands, the NASA for Handshower does not deliver the best possible user experience and therefore we have decided to change course.
We are offering backers who pledged for the NASA Handshower a different productthat provides much of the same function but with a sturdier design. The main difference between this adjustable shower arm and NASA is that it achieves adjustability with a pair of screw-fit knobs.
If you backed a NASA for your Quattro Handshower, you will receive an email over the next 3-4 days with specific details on the changes, as well as all of the information you will need to decide whether you would like the new adjustable shower arm or if you would prefer a refund.
Earth Mat Update
We know that many of you are eagerly awaiting your Earth Mats. Sadly, this product was held up in the endless global supply chain delays and we have had to alter our fulfillment strategy to get these to you on time (read the italics below if you’re interested in the details). Nevertheless, we are still tracking towards a November fulfillment like we mentioned in Update #5. Thank you for your patience.
The Earth Mats have been at the Port of Long Beach for the past 2 weeks. They were supposed to be transported to our 3PL/warehouse partner in Illinois but due to a shortage of transport trucks in the U.S., this would have set us back another several weeks. As such we scrambled to find a 3PL/warehouse partner on the West Coast who would accept our shipments last minute, which, given the crazy global shipping situation, was an enormous request and task in and of itself. We’d like to give a special kudos to our Ops team who are navigating these unprecedented times in the global supply chain. They are doing a great job being persistent, creative, and incredibly resourceful to make sure that we deliver pledges as soon as possible.

Quattro Shipping Update
As of today, almost 2,750 Quattros have been shipped, far surpassing the quantity we expected to ship in September. Woo! 🙌
By mid October, we expect to ship all U.S. pledges, including Oil Rubbed Bronze and Brushed Gold finishes. We originally expected to ship these finishes in November so we’re very happy to be able to deliver them much sooner than expected.
For international backers, we are still on track to ship your Quattros by early November.
NASA Rainshower Update

As we mentioned in our last update, shipments of the NASA Rainshower are unfortunately delayed by a few weeks due to back-ups in the ports. However, the units are already in transit and we expect to ship your pledges during the first week of November.
We are targeting the end of October to begin shipping Quattro live on our website to customers in the United States. Unfortunately, due to the above mentioned shipping delays, NASA Rainshowers will most likely not arrive in time to consolidate backer’s pledges before the live shipping date. Our default option will be to NOT ship pledges with a NASA until we are able to consolidate your order for the following reasons:
1) Consolidating pledges reduces our carbon footprint tremendously and is the most ecologically responsible option. It also greatly reduces shipping costs and these savings were already passed down to backers who selected the bundle pledge level.
2) To have the best install experience, we recommend having everything arrive in one box. This way you can install the NASA with your Quattro and you won’t have the headache of uninstalling your Quattro in order to install the NASA, and then reinstall your Quattro.
For these reasons, we highly encourage you to wait for your order to be consolidated. If you pledge for a NASA and Quattro Rainshower, we expect to ship your order the first week of November.
However, we understand that some backers might not be able to wait to have their shipment consolidated. If that’s the case for you, you may opt in to splitting your shipment by emailing support at [email protected]. Please include your backer #.

Shipping Update
We are currently on track with the shipping timeline provided in our campaign for the Nebia by Moen Quattro. 🙌In fact, we have shipped all Quattro pledges for those who selected expedited shipping and answered their survey. This week, we start shipping Quattro pledges for those who selected standard shipping and hundreds of units will go out this week.
As for the Earth Mats and Rainshower NASA, they are slightly delayed by a couple of weeks. We expect to fulfill them starting in October and ship them through November. This delay is caused by severe disruptions in the global supply chain and backup of freight shipping. They will most likely ship separately from your Quattro unit.
For everyone who selected a Nebia or Moen accessory (excluding the Earth Mat and NASA) through the BackerKit survey, we will try to ship those items at the same time (and in the same box) as your Quattro unit when possible.
Our Operations Team has been working tirelessly with our suppliers to get pledges into your hands faster than ever. We will continue to provide updates on any changes to the order fulfillment timeline as the unprecedented global shipping issues continue to unfold.

Nebia Adjustable Shower Arm (NASA) - Quattro Handshower version only
For those of you who backed the NASA (Nebia Adjustable Shower Arm) + Quattro Handshower this update is for you. You can skip this section if you did not pledge for a NASA with your Handshower. The Rainshower version of NASA is working just as we intended.
As detailed in Kickstarter update #3, we decided to delay production and shipping of the Handshower version of the Nebia Adjustable Shower Arm (aka NASA). The main reason for this is technical challenges which were revealed during field testing over the past 2 months. Since then, our Engineering Team has been hard at work creating a version of NASA that delivers the best possible user experience for the Quattro Handshower.

The technical challenge:
We are on our 14th iteration of the NASA Handshower Version since the start of this project. Needless to say, providing a seamless up and down and hold without any knobs (a first in the industry) has proven far more challenging that we initially anticipated. You might be wondering, why is this so hard? Here’s why…
The weight of the Handshower means that with our original NASA design, it will drop to approximately 30 degrees below horizontal
The Quattro Handshower (magnet mount included) weighs 2.5 lbs (1.13kg) when empty and 3.5 lbs (1.36kg) when full of water. The Handshower is heavier than most showers, which makes the ratio of holding strength to comfortable adjustability a very delicate balance.
The maximum torque needed to rotate NASA comfortably and the amount needed to resist the handshower’s weight is actually about the same.
The NASA inlet hinge needs to hold a torque of 47 inch-pounds to make sure the handshower (filled with water) never droops. Our testing showed that users could comfortably move an arm that required about 50 inch-pounds of torque to rotate. That means our window to make one that a user can move comfortably, while still holding the handshower up, is very tight. We are dealing on a micrometer scale making manufacturing tolerances incredibly challenging.
To put this in more relatable terms, it is like holding up a 12 inch frying pan from the very end of the handle. While the pan weighs only about 2-3 pounds, holding the pan at the very end of the handle creates a much heavier feel, making it cumbersome to lift for the person holding the pan. This “moment arm” effect coupled with the rotation of the end joint is what we are working to optimize, in order to provide easy adjustability with a sturdy hold.
Where we stand now:
We are currently undergoing a new round of field testing. Results will be back in about two weeks. These new versions have optimized torque to strength ratios as well as an improved type of lubricant and more lubricant applied.
We are testing A) a stiffer version and B) a slightly more moveable version. The stiffer version (A) is very strong and holds its position at every angle but it can be challenging to move up and down. Whereas the other version (B) has a comfortable stiffness for moving up and down but can droop at certain positions.
Our hope is to get consensus from users with respect to the optimal amount of force to holding strength trade off. We are testing with people of different heights, genders, and ages, as well as in different bathroom set-ups. We are looking for how much torque feels just right to users.
It is possible that this round of testing reveals that there is NOT a good balance and we have to turn to another design (which we have been working on in parallel). Specifically, we are evaluating two options of a classic mechanism of knobs or ratchets as a backup plan.
Ourtimeline for delivery is unchanged from the last update. Currently expected to ship late 2021 or early 2022.
Your options:
Switch to the Rainshower + NASA via your BackerKit survey.
Hang tight and wait for the new NASA. You will still receive your Handshower, and any other products you pledged for, on time. The Handshower can absolutely be used before you receive your NASA.
For even more adjustability options, you can also include a Slider Bar or extra Magnetix Dock(s) as add-on through the BackerKit survey.
