Campaign Ends Tomorrow! Important Backer Information

In these final days, we want to reiterate that backing Nebia by Moen Quattro on Kickstarter not only means big $ savings for you, it also helps bring Quattro to life, making water-efficient showers more accessible for everyone and making you a part of the solution.

Highlights of this update:

• Handshower version of NASA is delayed (Handshower still shipping on time)
   
• First Quattro showerheads and Earth Mats are shipping ahead of schedule
   
• The majority of pledges are still on track to ship by October (US) and November (international) 

NASA + Quattro Handshower Update

For those of you who have been asking for a NASA + Handshower update, here it is... (You can skip this section if you did not pledge for a NASA with your Handshower)

We have been rigorously testing the pre-production NASA samples over the past 4-5 weeks with both the Quattro Rainshower and Handshower. NASA paired with a Rainshower passed with flying colors and is scheduled to ship on time. We think the Rainshower + NASA is the most ideal combination in most set-ups. It can be easily adjusted with just one hand and it holds its position at just about any angle.

Unfortunately, the NASA paired with a Handshower does not yet live up to our standards. As such, we are delaying the shipment of NASA to backers who paired it with a Handshower.

While the Handshower + NASA worked well in the lab, when we tested it across many different bathroom setups, we encountered some limitations. Some users reported that NASA felt too stiff and using it was not as seamless as we wanted. 

We are dedicated to making the best products possible and providing the very best experience for our customers. We will not stand by a product that does not work 100% as it should. So, after much deliberation,we’ve decided to delay the launch of the NASA Handshower version.

While we think aspects of NASA for the Handshower are close, user testing in the field has revealed that the product, as currently designed, does not work in every situation and set-up. There is a chance we may need to make design changes to ensure that it has the user experience that we intend. 

With that in mind, several backers have asked if they can pair NASA with the Handshower to create a “rainshower” experience (vertical orientation of the NASA with the Handshower pointing straight to the ground). This will NOT be possible with the Handshower version as the magnets are not meant to hold this position. Please see the video above (around 3:17), or below to get a better sense of what we mean.

We will have a detailed update on the design changes within 30 days from now. We expect the delay may push shipping of NASA for the Handshower until the end of 2021 or early 2022.

So what does this mean for you?

If you backed a Quattro Rainshower + NASA, nothing has changed and no action is needed on your part. The product works exactly as it should and it will be shipping on schedule with Quattro orders.

The NASA + Rainshower excels in several use cases:

• Quick and easy height adjustment of up to 18 inches. For example, position it right above your head to wash your hair, move it below your chin to avoid the spray hitting your hair, aim Quattro to hit your back muscles, or adjust it between taller and shorter users.

1. Bring Quattro closer to your body for an even warmer and more forceful spray.

• Turn your Quattro into a true rainshower experience, with water coming straight down over your head. (Note: the Handshower + NASA cannot work in this position as the magnet mechanism will not allow for a straight down spray)
   

If you backed a Quattro Handshower + NASA, you have a few options:

• Switch to the Rainshower + NASA and receive all of your pledge rewards on time.
• Hang tight and wait for the new NASA, which will be engineered specifically to work with the Quattro Handshower. You will still receive your Handshower, and any other products you pledged for, on time. The Handshower can absolutely be used before you receive your NASA.
• For even more adjustability options, you can also include a Slider Bar or extra Magnetix Dock(s) as add-on through BackerKit after the campaign.

For those who choose to wait, we promise to keep you updated with each milestone we hit during the engineering process so that you know exactly where things stand. We will provide an update at least once per month. You will also have the option to cancel your NASA pledge at any point before it ships for a full refund. We hope you will bear with us as we work to deliver the best possible shower arm for your Quattro Handshower.

We are committed to long-term durability and the field testing is a vital part to our Kickstarter process. Our team is working diligently to ensure that we ship a Handshower version of NASA that delivers on the best possible user experience.

 Shipping Update 

We’ve been working tirelessly with our suppliers to get pledges into our backer’s hands faster than ever. Despite higher than expected production numbers and global supply chains still going crazy, our fulfillment schedule is panning out better than what we announced at the beginning of the campaign in a couple of ways:

•  The first Nebia by Moen Quattro showerheads and the first Nebia Earth Mat units will ship out by the end of August, with the majority shipping in late September / early October. 
• Brushed Gold and Oil-Rubbed Bronze finishes have moved up in the schedule and will also be ready for October shipping.

If you ordered a Rainshower version of NASA, the items in your order will ship together by October. If you ordered a Handshower version of NASA, your Handshower will ship in October and your NASA will ship separately at a later date (see details above and future updates for more information).

Overall, we are still on track to have all of our US pledges fulfilled by mid-October and worldwide pledges by November. The only exception is the Handshower version of NASA, which is delayed until further notice.

 Updating your Pledge 

If you’d like to edit your pledge or add any additional products to your current pledge while the campaign is still running, just follow these steps:

1. Log into Kickstarter
    
2. Select "Nebia by Moen Quattro - 4 powerful shower modes, 50% savings" under “Backed Projects”
    
3. Select "Manage your pledge"
    
4. Choose "Change your pledge"
    
5. Confirm your base pledge
    
6. Select your add-ons
    
7. Select "Continue" and then "Confirm changes"

 Color Selection & Add-Ons

Soon after the campaign ends, you will receive a survey via the pledge management platform BackerKit. The survey will allow you to choose your desired version and color for your Nebia by Moen Quattro, as well as for your Earth Mat and NASA if you pledged for them on Kickstarter, provide your shipping address, and add any desired add-ons. If you are anxious to get your Quattro, it is critical that you complete this survey as we will not ship your reward until you have done so.

Putting Quattro to the Test

Our engineers have been rigorously testing the longevity of Quattro in our wet lab in our SF headquarters. These tests were both performed over 10,000 times and Quattro’s shower dial and ball passed with flying colors. ✔️  

Shower Arms with Quattro

One thing we’d like to mention is the importance of using a longer shower arm with the Quattro Handshower. We recommend an 8 inch (20 cm) or longer shower arm. Any shorter and the handle may have limited downward range of motion. If you don’t have one, don’t worry! We will be offering an 8” shower arm through BackerKit at a discounted price for backers.

Last Monday night, the Nebia team gathered around a computer in our San Francisco headquarters and pushed “go” on this campaign. The occasion was momentous not only because it is our fourth Kickstarter campaign (and possibly our most exciting product yet) but also because it was the first time the Mexico City and San Francisco Nebia offices had been together since March of 2020. 

What made this reunion even sweeter was when the backer count started going up and your pledges began rolling in. Nebia by Moen Quattro has been years in the making and so seeing your reaction and support was incredibly gratifying.

Just seven hours after the launch, we met our goal. Now we are closing in on $1,000,000 and 4500 backers. Needless to say, we are, once again, amazed and humbled by your support. Thank you for believing in us and our products. 🙏

When we started Nebia, we set out to create the world’s best shower experience while preserving one of our most precious resources -- fresh water. Nebia by Moen Quattro is our biggest leap forward in conserving this resource. Hundreds of iterations, and innovations across three unique nozzle types, has led to a product that provides power, coverage and warmth, is extremely water efficient, and has achieved profound manufacturing advancements to become cost effective.
